Difference between v4 and v6 gear case

Whats the difference between a 2 stroke 115/130 gear case and a v6 200 2.6L case? The drive shafts have different part numbers are they interchangeable?

I don't know if the driveshafts are interchangeable between the 2 cases...but I do know that a 115/130 V4 case will bolt right up to and run on a 200 2.6 V6 motor...and vice versa. The physical difference between the two cases is the bullet size...4.75" vs 4.25". Pretty much like the difference between the xr4 and xr6 Merc cases. Propping between the two might be a small challenge because of that and also the gear ratio difference...same size propshafts though. Gear ratio is 1.86/1 for older V6 200 and 1.81/1 for newer V6 200 while the V4 115/130 ratio has always been 2/1.

Ok thats good to know, looks like the cases are completely different. On the SEI website they have a 90degree 2.6L drive shaft and a 3.1L 76 degree driveshaft. What is the difference between the two identification wise?

Nothing physically from the outside...same size bullet and shafts and each one will bolt up to and run in place of the other one. Your only difference between them is gonna be gear ratios...1.86 for the 2.6L vs 1.81 for the 3.1L. That same gearcase will also accept 1.75 gears as well cuz the 3.1L 225 and 250's ran that gearing out of that very same gearcase...

You got a pretty sweet looking one there yourself! I wouldn't mind seeing a few pics of yours too... I love Bullet porn...especially of the 20cc genre!

Holy crap...yours is off the charts! Ok now I'm embarrassed for putting pics of mine on here after seeing that. That's badass bro...beautiful 20cc! Love the Bullet/Yamaha setup too!

I don't know what color Paul Nichols' Bullet/Yamaha rig was but yours is exactly like it everywhere else...very sweet! How much does that hull weigh?

Paul was one of the previous owners of this one, but his yamaha rig was a different 20cc supercomp (i believe that one is in Brazil now) . A pic from when Paul had it.

Paul said it was around 840 with carpet and lids

Wow...840, holds a 3.0L on the transom, still fishes like a standard weight and looks sexy as hell doing it too...very impressive! I appreciate the additional info about its history too...I would imagine Paul's fingerprints would be on a supercomp somehow. I have never ran across an opportunity to buy one of those but it would be difficult to say no to it. Had a hard enough time finding a standard weight. Thanks for sharing all that...made my day a very good one!

I wish I would've had that handy little piece of info when I was looking...that would have saved me hours, days, weeks and months of time. I don't know why you would ever part with it but if you could put me on your list for it that would be sweet... Surely nobody else would want it with a Yamaha on back...right!?

Ha! especially a black yamaha...your on a growing list lol but don't think i will part with it...they refer to it as the "3 pin boat" as it has an extra pin stripe which adds to the rarity of the it.

Lol...I figured the list would be long! I hate to completely steal this post from the OP but I think I already gave him the info he was looking for. Could you share some of your setup info with me...ptp height, props, mid size, jack plate, motor mods, etc...? Also what kind of #'s you are seeing with the Yamaha power? Our rigs are very similar...with the exception of the almost 300lb difference in weight of course...
