    allison xb2002 prop setup w/ merc 260

    Hey guys,

I just bought an Allison xb2002 tournament. I need help figuring out what prop to match with this rig. I am going to be running a merc 260 offshore race 20" carb stock. If anyone has the right prop, I will be more than happy to buy it, thanks guys.

You will love that combo! Depending on the load you will carry and the rpm you want to turn, you probably want something like a 26 or 28 merc et or et cut chopper, Mazco RE 3, Hoss Triton, OMC 27 SRX, Performance Propeller Drag 3, or call hydromotive for their recommendation. There are more, but these will all work well. Wait for a few replies and then make your choice. If you decide you want an et cut chopper, let me know. I've got both a 26 and a 28 and will send pics.

Hydromotive works a chopper into this thing they call a knob cut, and it was my favorite all around wheel on my xb02. I ran a 26p, and it did everything well. Give them a call, you will be very happy.

A knob cut chopper is good, but pricey if you can't find a used one (and they are kind of rare). Hydromotive recently raised their price for doing a knob cut quite a bit, although its fair due to the amount of work involved.

Gotta pay to play. It's a custom cut to your specific needs. IMO they were giving their labor away before. Hydromotive is the best group of people in the business as far as I'm concerned.

They are both big ear mercury choppers that have been ET cut. Britt cut the 26, I'm not sure who cut the 28. Its stamped with a number and some other markings, but I don't recognize the shop. $350 shipped for either if you're in the lower 48. If you're interested in one of them, PM me an email or phone number for photos.

What are you wanting from a prop? Play prop? Fishing? All around? Just Cruising?

I know a guy with a GS and he likes a 25 Trophy for Ski and family boating.
