That’s an 89 though, maybe they didn’t do that in the earlier years?

the major regime change was in late '85 so it wouldn't surprise me if that changed as well later. Mr. Huff did a lot of things different in his days building the Lasers, his boats not only looked different than the early boats, he built them much different.

My Dad did a lot of things different than what most people thought he should in building the Lasers, and a lot of people said they were doing it "wrong" but it's been 35 years and those boats are still highly sought after. He used tooling grade resin and other manufacturers thought that was insane, ofcourse, those guys boats usually sank after some minor contact in a Mod VP race while a 380 would roll right on (just ask Da Bull)

Which time? LOL. Mine took a lickin and kept on a tickin. It has a few battle scars on it but not for long. It`s in the shop for a face lift. Still gonna be black. I`m putting it back the way it was in the early 80`s ( see my avatar pic) with just a few more ponies. It doesn`t say Kevlar anywhere and it`s a 1982 Kevlar comp hull.
It`s gonna be nice to drive that boat again. Last time it got wet was 1990.

My pictures of my 21' Laser was in the catalog in 1988-89. The one with the Evinrude 200XP was me. I'd love to find one of those catalogs since my ex threw out all of my personal belongings.

It`s been a project for sure. I quizzed your Dad about a few things when ya`ll came to the tunnel boat races here. His advice helped.
My apologies to KYJA95 for getting off topic on his thread.

He told me you had some pretty cool ideas for it, I tried to stay out of all that, it looked like you boys were having a great time talking about it!

He just retired Bobby, I'm about to put him to work on a special project!
kyja, Bobby's 380 damn near got left on the side of the interstate somewhere in Florida on the way to a Mod VP race in '82 or '83. My Dad and Roark were tandem towing it and an LTV with a pickup down to Miami when they were pulled over and told that it was illegal to tow that way and they would have to unhook one of the boats and leave it on the side of the road. So they unhook the 380 and my Pop gets his suitcase and pistol and crawls up in the boat, state trooper says "what the hell are you doing" Dad says " you don't think I'm leaving this GD race boat sitting here on the side of the f'n highway do you" (my old man has never been one to mix words) so Roark drives off with the trooper behind him. Comes back a few minutes later grinning like a hog in slop. They got to the next toll station and Roark called someone and raised nine kinds of hell, they told the officer to back off. They hooked back up and hauled ass to Miami.
Love it!
