The official party spot where the pizza was delivered, and all that was cancelled. There was still a good turnout of boating folk who wanted to rip it up one last time. It turned into an official cruise, and chill on the sandbar and watch the hydrostreams get spanked by a jetski and jetboats kinda afternoon lol

Maybe dumb question, but is the CT river where the run is considered brackish water? Or is it fresh water?

09-18-2018, 01:57 PM #21At the beginning of the growing season in early May, when river flows are at their peak, there is no detectable salt water in the surface waters of the river estuary, regardless of the stage of the tide. As the summer season progresses and the riverflow decreases, the penetration of salt water corresponding increases; by August, the freshwater boundary is located near the southern tip of Lord Cove. Thus, the freshwater/salt water boundary migrates approximately 5 miles four timesdaily in response to the semi-diurnal tidal cycle. In addition to the horizontal distribution of salinity, there is also a discrete vertical zonation of salt and freshwater in the river. Since the density of freshwater is less than that ofsalt water, freshwater lies above the denser sea water, often as a discrete lens or salt wedge.
What all this babble means is stay north of Essex to insure fresh water.
