225 opti fuel rail diaphragms replacement procedure.
Got a fuel pressure diaphragm leaking (?) and causing fast idle issues on my opti. Was planning on replacing all the rubbers on the fuel rail at once for max reliability. This is an 2010 motor with 800 hrs. I get how to do the replacement of the parts I believe, but do I need to pop out the welsh plugs and change the pressure adj screws behind them. Or can I just replace the rubbers and it will be good to go pressure wise?

The air pressure regulator has a small o ring, a diaphragm and an 80 lb spring. Merc sells a tool but a squeeze clamp works well. Put clamp on, take 4 allen screws out and slowly release spring. Tracker valve is similar to the air regulator but no spring.

Just as a follow up on this. I replaced all three of the diaphragms and both O rings on the fuel rails and didn't touch the adjustment screws. It runs like new. The fuel press reg had a cracked dia. and was causing the motors hi idle condition. It was an easy fix. But not a cheap one since I replaced it all at once.

Thanks! That makes two of us. Hit the key to start and it would red line if you let it. Scared the heck outta me.....All better now. Luckily I have a great merc dealer who cut me a break on the parts. The 3 diaphragms were 195 ea list....YIKES! I used mr demeanors trick on the air pressure regulator (80 psi spring) with the longer bolts to assemble, Made it easy. Did it all on the motor too. So a shout out of thanks to him too....
