Sportmaster Vent --- Yes or No?
Is a vent kit necessary with 4 driveshaft seals and 2 shift shaft seals?
Who runs one and Who is getting away without it?
Are there any seal upgrades for propshaft?

I had a freshly rebuilt 3L sportmaster that constantly had water intrusion. I installed a billet driveshaft seal and shift rod seal with a vent kit. I haven't had a problem since and it has been about 5 years.
My vent kit is just a tube from the shift rod seal going up to a PVC reservoir mounted up on the powerhead. I see there are now billet reservoirs.
Not sure if the vent kit and upgraded seals are both needed but it solved my problems and gives me piece of mind.
