2017 Parker Enduro is a month away.
Its not to late to participate in this legendary race on the Colorado River.
Bring your boat and crew to AZ to see if your setup has got what it takes
to compete and complete in the now 4 hour race.
Weather in Parker Az at end of October should be mid 80's.

I saw the rules where they have a speed limit of 110mph and all the fast boats will have a gps in them for the officials to look at during pit stops. This will be interesting as there should be many boats capable of that speed. Also there is a rule that say`s no passing in the turns. Sounds like NASCAR restrictor plate racing.

If I were racing I think I would want a boat that cannot run 110 but tops out at about 105 so I wouldn`t have to worry about going to fast and watch them break out trying to stay ahead or trying to pass me.

Here`s the link to the rules. www.rpmracingent.com

    Da Bull,
Thanks for posting the rules, my orginal post shows a black square were I attempted to show the rules for this years race.

Yes there is a 110mph speed limit were you will receive a penalty for breaking out. The race promoter is trying to avoid/limit the possibility of someone blowing over like Joe did in 2012 I think.
I believe the insurance for this event is a challenge to get and another incident like that may cancel this event for along time.

I've ran this event for the last four years in Div2 which is a modified 2L class normally Modvp hulls and we generally run about 78 to 85mph with a 40 gallon fuel tank with a dry weight around 1325lbs and its a blast.
This year James Perry is building us a 2.4 motor to run the Div VI, we will be to competing against 2.5's 3L and big green motors which will run mid 90's and up.

The course is now 6 miles (use to be 12 miles) and with 40 boats all starting at once water conditions dictate when you can really lean on it. Keeping your boat together for 4 hours is a challenge.

    Would a 20 ft. LCB with a 3.2L fit into a class?

Lol...think the center pod needs to be a surface the boat actually runs on but go for it I say.

Baker, You have a good plan. Drive a boat that can`t reach the max speed then sit back and watch them fall one by one to the speed rule.

Very few can actually run the 110 limit. Center pod even or below outside like the old modvp rules

I`m surprised. However the understanding I have is if a boat just exceeds the limit even for a second on the gps he get a penalty. Teague and all the GN`s must be slower than I thought.

32 boats started the 2017 Parker Enduro this year. Boats ranged from 23' to 16' V bottoms, Flat bottoms and Modvps hulls, IO's, V-drives, squirt boats and outboards. A Stoker driven by Greg Foster and Al Stoker, yes Al got some seat time this year and won the race. Their boat, running in Div VI 2.4, 2.5 3.0 and green motors is always a front runner and this years set up proved to a great one. It is truly great to see so many legends of boat racing continue to return to this historic event. Congratulations.
We ended up running in Div II 2L and we were leading our class until we ate a piston (carb issues we think) on the 33rd lap. We finished in second our Class and 12th overall. Attrition seems to always play a huge part. I wanted to thank my pit crew, (family and friends) and Cutting Edge props, Santa Ana Ca, Calhoun Marine, Chris Carson and James Perry for all your help.
