Need Advice: Painting the Bottom of my Seebold Eagle - What Paint to Use?
I purchased a Seebold Eagle as a project for this winter. Structurally this boat is good, transom and some core was replaced in 2009. At this time the previous owner also painted the boat. The paint on the bottom of the boat is rough in some places and I want to re-do it.
Here's a few notes...
- I'll be using white
- I'll be rolling and tipping not spraying
- I won't be flipping the boat, instead painting on the trailer
I have researched this exhaustively but I keep finding the same thing, anti-fouling paint. I'm looking for something that is glossy, or at least semi-gloss, and can put up with being left in the water.
Let me know what you know or what you have used yourself, I appreciate the help!

interlux brightside is what you need. sand the boat with 320 grit. roll and tip. at least 2 coats. DO NOT wetsand OR buff it afterwards. you'll go trought it and it will be dull.

Thank you for the reply, is this a product you've used yourself? I ask because when I looked at the product on their website they say "not for below the water line". Maybe in your experience it has been fine below the water line?

Sometimes "below the water line" refers to boats that set in water for extended periods of time. Not familiar with that product, but you can get away with more if the boat is a trailer queen.

yes I did. its holds up good. I unsed it ONLY on the bottom as I think the finish is not nice enough to do the top side. its been 4yrs since i've done it . the boat runs 90+. I sold it to a friend and he didnt complain about it either
