I wouldn't run diesel unless its just to get home... We used to run it in an allison 250 in a jam and the fuel nozzle was allways a mess with carbon at the 100hr.. I like the little detent on the throttle for the idle/cutoff position.. Dave

It should be finished in the next couple of weeks. Only the drive shaft guard and exhaust to finish now then some test running before it put in the water.

It was nice to meet yall as well Cpines. Foley's BBQ is always a great time and a great place to meet most of the folks on this forum.

Any updates? Such a cool build, and I can't wait to see video of it on the water.

The drive shaft guard has been a bear but it should be finished up today. The exhaust pipe is down in Ft. Lauderdale at Metcalf Marine Exhaust getting the hard coat insulation baked on and it should be back next week.
Once the shaft guard is completed the engine and mounts have to come back out to do the final install of the fuel tanks then put everything back in. After that there are a few return fuel lines to make and install, fill all the fluids and do some test running. Getting really close!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few shots of the exhaust prototype that was sent down to Metcalf Marine Exhaust for fabrication and insulating. The three ventures in the bottom of the inside of the pipe are for brake dust evacuation in the center, the starboard side will be for bilge water evacuation and the port side will be for combusted housing drain evacuation. The pipe they build will look much better than what we had to work with and the ventures will not be as tall as what are on the one I sent down. The pipe will be about 4" longer on the end to get out past the transom.

The drive line guard is fitted and now to pull the engine and mounts back out, install the fuel tanks the put the mounts and engine back in. Hopefully everything will go back to gather exactly the same way it comes out and everything lines back up. That drive-line guard was a lot harder to build than anticipated.

I am Waaay beyond "Impressed" as this makes my "bucket list" projects seem like childs play!!!! Your attention to detail really puts the "frosting" on an already unique project. Thanks for sharing and I am sure this will set the bar for future "out of the box" threads !

This build is no doubt one of the best ever on this site. Curious if the hull carries a "UTC" in the hull id number. Great thread!

It does. UTCSX*******, What is the significance of the UTC?
Thanks for the compliment. Attention to detail seems to be an OCD thing for me. LOL, Autograph Your Work With Excellence. Seems like most of today's younger generation is more focused on resistance than Excellence.

It's almost going to be a shame to start that bad boy up and use it when you're all done. It might get dirty. Man that's awesome fabrication work!
