The boat is finally coming out of the paint shop tomorrow with a basic arctic white Awlgrip paint job on the entire cockpit and forward compartment where some of the oil and fuel systems will be mounted. This is the preliminary base paint job and will get a final custom paint job in phase two of the project after I get several hours on it and a little fun.
Should be making some really good progress in the next couple of weeks and hope to be sea-trialing it for the first time around mid February.
I'll have pics tomorrow of the bare boat before any parts go in as well as the bare hull weight.

Some of you more experienced high speed boat builders, correct me if I am wrong! My thoughts are to shift the C/G forward from where the previous set up was that had a top speed of 85 mph, about 18" farther forward in anticipation of speeds around 120 mph which will be packing more air creating much more lift in the bow. ???????

Twelve inches might be a better move. A little ballast in the tips goes a long ways and is a simple fix if it feels flighty. Can't wait to see this thing light up...

Thats true. Easier to add a little if needed than to move a large component. The fuel tanks are mounted aft of C/G and will change in weight by 1200 lbs from full to empty so just 12" may be better.

Yes. Very limited on location when stuffing 200 gallons of jet fuel in a 25' boat.

I`ll tell Dennis about this and let him tell the story. The boat has seen several changes and nobody can describe them better than him.
