Need help identifying Mercury mid section

I have a couple extra merc 20" mids that I'm looking to sell. One of which is a 2.5l 175 and the other I'm not sure of. It has a single ram cylinder. Here are some pics. Click image for larger version.

Looks like old early V6 mid from the late 70's to early 80's pre 3 ram mid.

    I had a 77 1750 and a 79 200 that had that mid.

Any way to tell from the serial number? I believe it's a 200hp.

The mids like that are 83' or older. Someone on here can run the serial and say exactly what it was.

Edit the thread title with serial number help to get attention directed that way

The original mid from '76-'79 had two rams and the hydraulic lines went through the two lower transom mounting bolts. Rarely see those anymore! That style you have came out about 1980 and ran until the 3 ram came out about '84. It is THE SAME as the "offshore" single ram EXCEPT for the tiller. The Merc Racing mids have a "Fat" tiller!

These make great budget "High Perf" 20" Midsections when you throw on a later model fat tiller arm. You can beat the **** out of em with no problem. Good strong ALCOA aluminum... or at least mine were. Trim is a bit slower but I'd much rather run one of these than a 3 ram on anything remotely fast.

Yes, now that you mention this, I vaguely remember that was twin ram and the hoses went on the lower mounting bolts ..... don't get old ... memory ain't the only thing that goes .....

Seem to remember a funky bolt pattern on my 77 and 79. When did the bolt pattern get standardized?

When they went to the single ram, 1980 I think. My '79 was originally a twin ram and my '81 was single.

You need an actual Hi-Po fat tiller, there is a shoulder on the bass fat tiller. Maybe could be machined off? Might check with one of the guys that cuts mids...

If you compare a 3 ram tiller (fat or not) to the single ram tiller you will see the shoulder below where the upper motor mount bolts pass through. Sorry I'm not home now to post a pic!
