    Vking yt setup

Anyone interested in setting up a vking yt with a 300 yamaha? Well ill save you the trouble and time and head ache. I know all boats a different but this can set you in some direction. Just want to say thanks to all the local longisland boating friends in the area for letting me borrow and try all these props. If it wasnt for them i wouldnt be where im at now. The yamaha has 1.75 gears and a limiter at 6150rpm with 5in of setback. I tried 8 different props in the last few weeks. All acted different, some real good and some not so well. The ones i thought to run mint didnt and the ones i thought wouldnt run well they did. Most of these props were ran 1in to 1.25in above pad. All props ran 90-99mph on the limiter. Im waiting on a 15x35p HPD hoss to try and on the hunt for a 35p bravo. So far out of all the props i have tried the 34 bravo1 was the fastest and equal in handling to the 32 promax. Im on the hunt to get a stock bottom vking yt with a stock ecu 300yamaha to run a solid 105 mph. If on limiter after i try the 35hoss ill be sending out the ecu for more revs. Anyone interested in more info message away. I will be updating post as i make morw progress. Enjoy guys and stay fast!

Thru hub props will surprise you sometimes.....I would have never thought my boat would like a tempest 29p...But it does. Congrats on the project being a success.

Yes. I was extremely shocked how well it handles and runs with it compared to the rest. I have a 35bravo on the way ill be trying this up coming week. Then i have a 35 hpd hoss ill be trying soon as well.

Thank you for sharing your results. I spotted this boat on Facebook earlier, very cool with the Yamaha!

The posted results should be interpreted with caution when comparing prop types. As all posted props were hitting the limiter, the Bravo might well be the fastest because it was one of the highest pitch props included Not saying that the Bravo isn't a decent prop for this setup, just thinking out loud

Looking forward to any further results

I went out this morning and tried the 35p bravo 1 with a cut barrel. the boat seemed to handled better with the cut barrel then the 34p bravo with the flare on it. I am still on the rev limiter (6150) with the bigger prop.It ran 102mph four passes in a row. The speed is alot more consitant then the 34p. Over all proformance i still say the bravos are a great wheel for this setup. My next prop ill be trying this weekend is a 15x35 hyperdrive hoss brand new. With the bigger blades then the bravo and the design of the prop i believe it should lower my slip rate and push the boat pretty good. This will be the last large prop im going to try on this setup. If by any chance im still on the limiter i will be over winter sending my ecu out to get bump to 6650-6700rpm. Enjoy.

So the hoss prop ran pretty damn good. Me and Tim went with the HPD 15x35 to keep me off the limiter and to carry the boat with the heavy 550lb yamaha. Well im off the limiter and just around 101 at 5750-5800rpm which is like 7-8% slip. Im going to try moving some weight around and maybe a little more engine height and setback. Over winter after i run the boat a few more times and document the setup i will be sending the prop back to Hoss for the final adjustments as well as having my ecu flashed by Simon for a few hundred more rpms. Over all performance of the Hoss HPD, its a great wheel and it runs just as stable as the 4blade PROMAX. Great hole shot, im using alot less trim then the other wheels. Thank you Tim Bostic for making one hell of a prop for the stream.

I noticed no torque steer with the HPD. It handled just as good as all the 4blades i ran. I also have hydraulic steering so maybe that plays a part but i dont think so. His hoss props are true pitch. If you think you need a 30p go with a 28p.

Each prop had 3 runs back to back. I will be spending more time with my setup and working the hoss to get my revs up. If i can run at least 105 at 6000-6100 just shy of the limiter ill be happy with that. Stay tuned for more updates
