Are the roads passable, who won't let you get to your properties? People stayed, everyone should be allowed back asap. Is gas leaking etc?

Bad , that's how it works and is the reason so many more won't leave the next time. One guy even said that on the news. "Animals can't feed themselves and they might not let us back in for weeks " Looks like he was spot on.

Local town , county or state government? The faster you can get back and start the process the better.

Roads were washed out in 2 spots. I was in MD when it hit so I was not an evacuee.

They can't just let everyone back in right away....it would be chaos. Highway is still closed from mm77 on down. There is NO power NO water No cell service No sewer No gas. Closing the road is in everyone's best intrest. Looters and dbags that have no reason to be here would be everywhere. I've never left for a storm, but I did for this one - and I'm glad. It's going to be a month before I will have power and years to recover.

We had no damage just tons of branches and trees down in neighborhood. One huge oak 6 doors down took power out. My parents seawall is hanging off but house is ok. Sucks but atleast it died down to a cat 1. Naples recorded 142mph wind at the airport which lost part of its roof.

As far as I know, everyone is ok, with minimal damage. Not sure if Mikey was back in town or not. I know he was gone for a week or so with his mom. A few without power, but we were lucky and never lost it. I've got a couple areas without shingles, but other than that no big deal. The lake is up about 3 feet or so from where it was last week. I had 2+ foot waves coming into the beach once the winds started coming out of the south.

High exposure areas like the keys, are new construction standards now stricter to prevent the mass destruction?

The houses have had incredibly high standards for a long time...that's why they are still standing after a direct hit from a Cat4. The biggest problem is the infrastructure. The power grid and water/sewer service are going to take a huge hit during that kind of storm/surge - there's no way around it.
