Glad everyone is ok, the sounds are scary and ya never know whats going on especially when it gets dark out. We have a family home in Fort Meyers all seems ok, just some minor stuff. Could have been worse.

National Guard is in. All bridges into the keys have been inspected and are ok but not open to travel. Heavy damage mm15 to mm40. May be up to one month before power is restored.

Not much to do to help, but I appreciate the offer.

The good news is my stv has reportedly made it through the eye of a Cat4 hurricane without damage. I'm sure only time it'll ever see 130mph lol.

Parker, figured you would out playing in the waves , seeing how much air you could get.
No boats, after being told a speeding ticket on the lake I was running could go as high as $1000 decided to trade the boat for another motorcycle. Lake had a 35mph speed limit.

I've exchanged a few emails with Chris Carson and wanted to let everyone know that Chris is doing well and that his home and shop were spared from any serious damage. He wrote that there are "[l]ots of trees down but no water damage" and that there is "lots to clean up but [Chris Carson Marine Services] will be back at it soon."

Fortunately, his shop and home are on the Gulf side of Key Largo. Were they on the ocean side, or in the Middle or Lower Keys, I'd likely not have such good news to share.

It was a wild ride! Our first major feeder bands in Jupiter hit Sunday around 10:00am. We lost power at 12:00 noon. The rain eased up around 7:00pm so I fired up the generator to keep up with the news. Once I found out that the track had shifted to the west coast of Florida, I left 4' of my bedroom sliding glass door without shutters (but had them standing by just in case). We got to witness mother nature's fury from our covered patio and it got nasty! Lost many pine tree branches, bamboo trees, etc. Some of my shadow box fence is leaning over. We had 90+ mph gusts and I'm 10 miles inland from the ocean! It's hard to fathom that the center of the storm was 100 miles away and we were getting hammered! Around 3:30 am I let my dog out in the back yard to pee and the winds were howling...major gusts but not much rain. I have bamboo plants that stand easily 30' tall and they were bending over to half their height!!! Thankfully we came through unscathed and got our power back last night at 8:00pm. I even got to surf yesterday after the winds clocked around.
Other than lots of yard cleaning all is fine and both my Checkmates are fine. Also, fellow Scream and Flyers, Nick (Njsboat), Tim, Johnny (landandsea) are also ok!!

Heard from Mr Fun (Keith ) in Jacksonville, no major damage and they didn't flood. I was worried with the canal just behind the house.

Any news from gator mike or any of the St Cloud bunch ?

Good luck the rest of you guys , you are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike

The water stopped rising at the flood plain to the 1/4 " funny how thy can control the flow out of OIA that persist.
Have just a little water in the garage about a foot in the front side.

This storm had a weird effect on a lot of places. My moms bar a few feet above sea level in Homosassa floods the bottom level with a 15mph onshore wind and a high tide, it was bone dry. Yet places 30'+ above sea level I've never seen flood had 2' of standing water.

Sorry for the people in the keys, getting back home seems like it's one big whodunit right now. One of the guys said "This is why we don't leave, not because we're not scared, but because they never want to let us go back home!" Yet apparently some of the other more affluent people were let through? Kinda ****ty.

My home on Cudjoe survived the direct hit of Irma. Waiting for permission to go assess the damage. Only lost some palm trees. Many not so fortunate. I will be helping them as much as possible in the little amount of time I have. Have to be back in MD late next week.
