Yep, those guys are awesome. Glad to hear you’re doing an article on their manifold. They’ve been real tight lipped about it. Marty’s been telling me the past 2 years that it was going to be awesome, but that was about all I could get out of him. The PH was built from March of last year, but I decided to leave it up there with them until they got the manifold done, so I could dyno it. I haven’t seen the motor in person since they’ve put the manifold and new heads and flywheel on it. Just from the picture it sure looks a lot better than the dusty, rusty lump I sent them. Everything in this motor is new, except the crank and block.

That is for sure! Marty and Joe are amazing in what ever they do!
Look forward to the feature on it.

As for the windshield you can call Jack and get him to send some or call Pro Glass @ 630-553-3141 for preformed lexan so you shouldn’t have any distortion in the curves

Thought I would resurrect this thread now, and report my progress with this project going forward, since I’ve been posting queries about random things all over the forums.
Heres the jackplate I’m using, created from a 20 year old one off a friends old Triad, cut down to 3” setback. Great thing about it is that it only weighs 10lbs:

I know that mach351 said a while ago (at post #6) that 1.25-1.375” above the pad is optimum height for river running, but what would be the optimum height for drag racing with only 3” of additional setback? ? Or should I set it at about that height with the motor jacked up all the way (I have a 12” mid with the hydraulic up/down) and then launch it with the motor in the full down position and then jack it up as it comes on plane?

It might want a touch lower....but maybe not. Run it and see. Easy enough to change. I want to say Andy Driver was running his at 1.375 and he was on the transom. Jack would know....he drilled the holes.

I think that only you can answer that question with testing and a good water pressure gauge...

Thanks guys. I intend to dial it in myself, but just wanted an idea of where to start. I think I’ll set it up at 1.25” above the pad to start and see how that works and go from there.

Got a bunch of goodies from Power Performance yesterday. Hopefully I can figure out where it all goes.
Still waiting on a few bits and pieces, and I need to pull all the old wiring, trim pump etc. out of the boat, but will soon be able to start putting it back together. Will be running an AiM MXL2 Datalogger dash, so that I don’t have to guess what’s going on after a pass.

That’s a trim limit switch. Pretty ingenious device. Didn’t come with any instructions, but I’m sure I can figure it out. I’m going to route the up trim solenoid wires through the switch, connect the trim indicator cable to the slide and adjust the cable and slide so that when the motor reaches the max trim I want it at, it shuts the power off to the solenoid. Im going to use a digital delay to trigger the trim pumps to trim out and jack up on the launch, with this acting as a fail safe.
It looks like Brendan made some changes to the design compared to the one shown on his website.
The motor already had a Diamond flywheel on it when I got it back from them. A friend of mine here has one of Brendan’s flywheels though, and it looks real nice.
