    1976 Ventura 2

    Hi all,

I am putting my 1976 Ventura 2 up for sale. The boat is all black and is a center steer configuration. I bought the boat last summer and rigged with a 150 promax (16 amp charging, vertex pistons, stock ecu, BP tuner, coned CLE). Boat sits on a much new blue trailer. The boat has run 87 with a 26 knob cut and will likely run 90 with a bigger prop as my 150 ecu goes full rich after 6900.

The boat has a filled in pad from the previous owners rebuild. The boat handles very well. The hook is still in the pad but not the concave center. Very bow light from my experiences with allisons, so I run my battery up front.

Here is the rebuild thread by the previous owner: http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...murder+ventura

I will attach pics after this post so you can get a feel for what the boat looks like. The boat is a 50 footer without a doubt (you can call it a rat if you would like). The paint is rolled on so it's nice and thick, but the finish has orange peel in a few spots and some dust dried in the top coat. The epoxy on the bottom was not sanded correctly so most of it in the pad area has worn off to expose the primer (which is faster anyway lol ).

The boat is running dual opposed ride guide steering that came from a 21 checkmate (same length cables, figure that one out?!)

IMPORTANT: One of the reasons I am selling the boat is there is some transom flex and I do not have the skills (nor the time) to decide what the best course of action for the boat is. From the rebuild thread, you can see everything that was put into the boat. I am a senior in college, so the boat is 45 minutes away from me and I have only ran it about 6-7 times.
In the pictures, you can see cracking of the bondo/fiberglass filler due to the flex in the transom. I have placed my hand on the inside of the transom where the knees attach, and cannot feel any of the flex here. I suspect there is a bonding issue between the layers of the transom, although this is just an opinion. If you jump up and down on the cavitation plate, you can see some flex at the corners where the splashwell was deleted.

Pricing: $1300 boat and trailer (seats come with, shifter, 2 10 gallon tanks, steering, custom tarp, hot foot ) .

As I said, I'm in college, so any time after 5pm and I can answer questions. My number is 5one5-829-seven915. Text, call, PM me, etc.

They took the title when I registered the boat (under 20 ft), but I have the previous bill of sale, and current 2019 registration. Boat is located near Des Moines IA.
