Ok the process building!, glassing !,the steel frame ready to be glassed to the mould!, 3 ready made grids and a old mould that has seen better days !
these are for smaller boats but each model had its own grid ! because of hull shape and size and if it was a open boat or a small cabin style family boat with a vee birth and foot well up front !! fuel tanks sat in a proper recess and supported from the grid . simple ,easy to make light weight and worked very effectively and saved lots of time during the assembly and building process !!
Its is also possible to add a element of give and spring by changing the shape of the sides of the stringers on a grid to allow and have a slight spring effect!! add to that a special semi flexible solid glass hull made with the right glass the right way and behold you can have a soft ride production hull !!
Didn't see that one coming did you !!

Messing round with boats is fun !! the learning never stops ,even after more than 30 years there's always something new happening somewhere ! BUT somethings never change and some problems never go away and just keep reoccurring !!so moved into Composite Forensics , Now that something completely new !!
