    94 Merc 200

Hi members. I have a '94 200hp Mercury with a CLE bottom end.

I'm trying to figure out what the next powerhead is that I can put on it. I would rather just replace it then purchase another complete motor. Also, possibly looking at putting a 225 powerhead on instead.

    Thanks for reading. Chris

200 hp and down 2.5 fit with no changes. 225 pro max has rectangular exhaust ports compared to square ports on the 200 and will require also changing adaptor plate or getting ports cut in your plate. 225 3.0L won't fit.

I might catch heck for this but for 2.5's below the 260 and not turning crazy rpm(under 9k) I like the 2.4 Bridgeport adapter plate the best especially on a heavier rig(over 1300 with driver and fuel)

The motor I have now is a 1984 2.4l block on an 18ft Hydrostream V-King. Not sure if it's an 86 or an 89.

You'll be amazed just switching to a later (96-99) 2.5 200EFI. About the best bang for the buck around in my opinion.
