So they are using a Okie Mannerfelt Idea, thinking of the speed rails they sold in 1992 the Idea was to utilize the energy of high pressure water to gain lift= less drag
I've used concave surfaces on my hull for the same reason, instead of wasting the energy going side ways
www,hhp://www.mdteam.se/projects.html?speed_rail
But then went off the rails with a very high degree V reverse Chine
and It's FAST I Love itLast edited by CUDA; 11-28-2020 at 10:04 AM.

Yes in UIM offshore for monohull with 200hp (Mercury 200xs) Bat23s and HydroSteps have competed. About the same performance. Have very little references compared with the bat19 racing with 115hp. I think the B19 is faster on flat water, and the HydroStep accelerate and turn better and handle Waves better but it also much larger.

Sounds like a Great class, what they achieve with those motors is spectacular!

So every design has It's drawbacks what would this ones be?
So it tracks straight in ruff water or is it a side to side thing vs the big step wide pad Bat design? We have invented the world; WE see

Impressive with that much weight and length for such limited power to run high 70s as stated. I can't imagine its very reassuring in the turns with all of that ventilation, sharp deadrise, and bow length combined.

Mercury 200xs gives a speed around 90Mph top speed. It,s really forgiving in turns. Have a nice race video I can upload in a turn compared with "Batboat"
