I appreciate it. I have one cylinder that already measures .006 over book spec, and 2 others that are .002 over so I don't have much choice but to bore it. Wiseco starts at .020 over, and then .010" increments.

Mercury 115hp 73/74 were fitted with a non power ported 3 ring Hi comp pistons. Piston cast No 745 5208. It's all so correct that 90hp I6 also had same pistons. Merc Part No 745- 5220A1 NOS is replacement STD piston cast No 745- 4973 for Twisters & 650XS.

I tried to order pistons from Mercury using the original part number for the 1350(135 hp) inline from 1971. All the Piston numbers superceded to 1 part number that has the power port and notch. Seaway pulled one off the shelf for me and looked at it. Does anyone have a parts book for this engine?

It's apparently going to be a special order piston, the other guy I had spoken to was wrong, so I can probably have them coated. I believe the Pistons come anodized normally. I'm waiting for my machinist to check both blocks out first.

...I don't think one was ever produced from Mercury Hi-Performance, for the T2x.

I don't have any oversize Charlie.. But somewhere in the dungeon is a 90 HP crank with 6 non ported pistons in fine shape. Whether they are notched I can't remember.
