HMT Does the trailer have hub caps with grease fittings? If not buy some cheap ones (NOT Bearing Buddies) Give them a few pumps and just drive SLOW!!! I have brought home TOOOOOOO many trailers this way. BTW watch out for rotted axle!!! Have put a splint on one out of 2x4 and hose clamps and towed 150 mi.When I went to the Falkland Islands to excavate a shipwreck they nicknamed me "Maciver" Gary

Grab the top of the tire and shake it good, bearings ready fail I find are loose. Give em a turn . Check the frame for a soft spot .
WTF am I telling you for , you know that.
2x4s and hose clamps, classic .

If it is built like the old Crosby I had a few of. There is a core to speak of. It will have a piece of plywood laminated in the bottom. It will be rotten. The only way to remove it is to cut the whole bottom sheet out . Then replace and laminate back over it.

Tons of old stuff like that out this way, most in similar shape. If you get lucky the owner will have cleaned up the trees growing around it so you can get to it without a machete.

Well - - - Almost 2 years later, my daughter is over a year old, and Wifey actually encouraging me to go back and look at it.
The Wifey's sister's husband's uncle had a little falling out, and is trying to liquidate all his assets. Gunna go crawl around inside it tomorrow and try to work a deal. YAY. Boat may be coming home!1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click

That's a great looking project, very unique. I love the old runabouts. Looks like an easy transom and floor project if it's wet. Can't wait to see it done!!
