BRP Rotax 2cyl 165hp
This would be bad ass on light boat with a 2 cyl mid, I can only imagine what we would have today if the big companies got into the racing wars of the 70s...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGPGTQT0aD8

Baddd assss!
Makes our powerheads look like crap.
I love the detailed castings.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Hey Gary, did u see the video..I posted a link ,it has positive main bearing oiling.. I did this on mine, used an optimax oil pump and plumed lines to the mains not relying on the hope that oil will migrate ..brp is on it with this thing. Dave

They failed to mention a very important part , the exhaust and chamber. Also power curve of that crank hp.

This is stock, i'm sure it wasnt with two big expansion chambers.. and like any of our mild to wildly ported stuff has much bottom end. I had a fishin boat with twin 225 promaxs buried with std non slipping props an it was a pig off the line.. A 3cyl version of this would be in v6 hp ranges...

it wont last like a outboard
its more like a 300 drag merc
can you drive uphill for several hours at WOT in a sled?
You see they have trouble with rings so the steel inserted ring land, nice but they need it.
be cool in a 3 cyl, 250hp!!Last edited by powerabout; 07-21-2017 at 08:34 PM.

so if brp made it a v-6 o/b powerhead its 83.5 hp per cyl = 83.5 x 6 = 501 hp now if scream and flyers got ahold of it because we cant leave things alone 600 + and up hp BRP MAKE ONE DAMN IT.

Yup, make an inline 5 , 72* pin spacing, 13524 or 15234 order with equal length pair tuning, looper. Yup, nothing smoother

As is, even with the pipe a sled motor is not a very good fit for even a small boat. Design the expansion chamber for it? That could make things interesting. Maybee an inline 4 with 2 2 into 1 pipes with more displacement than that motor could make a nice outboard, with pipes mounted to the cowl!!!!
