2.5L EFI-Offshore Exhaust Block-off Plate
I'm currently running without an exhaust block-off plate on my offshore mid-section.
Am I hurting my performance by not using one?
What are the pros and cons of running with one and without one?
Are the differences that significant?
As the motor did not come with one, I'd have to order one; would it be worth it?

They have so many holes I doubt there is a noticable performance difference. I plug most of mine to make it a little quieter when at the local lake with sheriffs around. They seem more like a sea strainer than anything else.

The factory one is like Swiss cheese and wasn't noticeable on mine. I ended up making a solid one that I use if my wife and daughter are in the boat. (She's 2 and doesn't like loud noises) It does force all the exhaust through the prop so it will act like a regular mid.

1/8 ss or 3/16 aluminum should be plenty. Gasket optional.

I just had a piece of aluminum I used. Haven't bothered with a gasket.

Interesting....
Some offshore housings have no relieves at the top. The 1 piece adapters covers them. Now if you close the offshore snout 100% off there is no idle exhaust relieve anymore above water. Someone having problems due this?

My idle relief slots are open. Appear to be factory stock and exhaust comes out of them.
