24 Superboat Prop Question

Hey Guys (Girls)

My brother has a newer 24' Superboat (stepped hull) that has a merc 250 on her. Boat runs nice at top speed, but is a real dog planing, and gets worse when passengers are added.
What is the best all around prop for this boat?
How high should engine be?

Trophy seem to work well with that hull and motor. I know Superbash liked the 24p on his 300x. Not saying thats the pitch for you but that I believe was his best prop and that hull. JMO

Frank, I ran a 25 or 26 Trophy Plus with my stepped bottom with a 300PM. I had an 8" setback with a coned TM.
I can not remember if I tried a ProEt, they also work very well.
Like Vnemous said it will depend on your setup and engine height.

Setup when he purchased

Prop is a mercury revolution 4 blade 23p with 4 holes
6" setback
Point of lower unit is 5" below

Boat runs nice at WOT, but run more than two people she has a hard time planing (couldn't pull a drunk out of bed). Motor can't revup

Pretty deep especially if your transom is notched.JMO

A 23" Rev4 was great on my 21' Checkmate. I had another set of 4 PVS holes added. Only then would it rev up good for hole shot.

5" below the pad seems way too low. The Rev4 has a ton for grip and can be run really high.

I run a 27 bravo xs on my step bottom 24 with 300xs, propshaft level with bottom torque master lower and it jumps out of the hole, I've found that the 24 like the bigger diameter props, couldn't get the trophy to hook up well

I READ solas scorpion run very well on your kinda rig. there 15.25 dia great lift hi-rake but underrated with pitch # a 24 is like turning a merc 26
