Using top guided rods with bottom guided mahle 260 pistons, how to stack washers
I have a set of bottom guided mahle 260 pistons and i am trying to stack the thin top guided washers to make the top guided rod work. I need to stack 4 washers on one side and 3 on the other to make the rod fit into the piston. This leaves the rod off center, is this a problem? I know people have done this before so any info would be great. I know there are thick washers available from pro marine and mercury for this application but would rather take this route if possible.

I use Mahle pistons with 818141 rods. I use one thin and one thick OEM Merc washer on each side. Has worked perfect for 20 years
