ID:	379603Deka 24M7 Marine Master... DONE! The 300xs requires 800cca or 1000mca. I replaced a new EverStart 24DC with this battery and am far more pleased with the start capacity; and even the reserve capacity to run audio, while still starting the motor with out crossing my fingers.

I need a group 24 replacement. Saw this one at Sam's Club.

Just go to Batteries' Plus, Advance Auto, AutoZone and buy a AGM marine battery. I replaced my Sears Marine AGM which was 7 years old and not bad yet. Just a preventive thing. I purchased top-post AGM only because it had date code 9months old at Auto Zone and AZ reduced the price to $50 from $200 when I commented on the date code. AZ has the terminals to convert for marine use. Also only think there are a few battery producers in the USA... so it's same battery different labels. Other than maybe the special batteries.

I got one full season out of my Deka's with 300XS's. They won't spin the motor fast enough to build starting air pressure.

    Sure look good though. :-)

I'm using this Exide AGM battery and although it's only rated to 930mca it has no trouble firing off the 300XS. AGM batteries have a capability called pulse current, it's a brief burst of current that can add another 25% which may explain why it doesn't have any issues. If, over time, my assumption is proven incorrect I'll need to find something else. Batteries are a consumable item so it will get replaced at some point.

Just attach a Lithium jump starter right away and you'll never have a problem starting.
