    1991 Evinrude 90hp carb rebuild ?

    this may have been asked already , but not finding a thread

    are there any special tools required for a carb rebuild ?
    jet screwdriver I can grind to a custom order
    I do not have a float gauge, what will work in its place ?

    also have not acquired a service manual for 1991 and newer, are the 1990 carbs going to be the same ?

    thanks a bunch for any assistance.

    Just the special 'jet driver'. (Made my own too.) Works like a charm.

    Carbs should be the same. Type III.

    So I pulled the top carb off and come to find out they used plastic bowls which are warped
    now forced to buy new cast alum. bowls, I'm OK with that nice upgrade

    Question;
    since I have to get new jets with the new bowls , whats stopping me from turning this into a 115hp ??

    #1 difference I can see in the parts book are the jets sizing
    - are the throat bodies different also ?

    #2 looking at my 90hp engine it is a flat back , the 115hp shows a bubble back exhaust , is this required to make a 115 from a 90 ?

    Why do you have to get new jets?

    Yes. And bigger carbs and hi-comp heads and reed stuffers, etc. Though yours being a prop rated 90 might have some of that stuff.
