    First Formula 1 race 1981..

..was run in Como, Italy in May 1981. This was the last OZ class race before the V8 was introduced in Brodenbach, Germany. (next race in June.)
    It was a mix of 2.448 liter V6 cross-flow, 2.6 liter V6 cross-flow and the 3.0 liter V6 looper, fuel injection.
    Renato Molinari won (last picture)

Love to see some more photos of the 2.0 and 3.0 looper
Not to mention the 2.0 xflow that remains a mystery

I think this was an F3000 engine back when the class was popular in Europe.
Not sure what Alain Delpeuch of France is doing now with his beautiful rig.

F3000 was from start (around 1987/88 production engines only up to 3 liter with 20 inch shaft and the standard gearcase.
A dangerous combination for tunnel boats and the rules was changed to standard powerheads max 3 liter installed on racing mid sections/gearcases.

That would be a good class for today could do stock and unlimited powerheads even emission ones, something for everyone
Did you hear news, ski racing in OZ has been limited to 120mph...
