    Well the Evinrude V6 2 liter cross-flow was also called the Super Strangler and same cowling decal as the V4 Super Strangler.
    I dont think there was an Evinrude 2 liter looper called Super Strangler..only Cees Johnson Stinger GP 1975.
    1976 the Evinrude CCC was born and the Johnson RS.

    I always liked the look of those cut-down type cowlings. I can imagine that it may have caused some aero issues, especially in a cross wind, but it sure looked good!

    I think the low cowls were supposed to help lower the center of gravity. If you notice on that Cougar boat the gas fill is in the deck so the fuel tanks were in the sponsons. Interesting that the idea did not last long.
