Completely understand Cathy. My grandfather had so many things and he's been gone since 1992, so what to do? We've been storing all this stuff for so many years and there comes a time when you need to let go of some. Many ended up with family members, some went to special private collections and others went to the Motor Sports Hall of Fame.

Beloit 1978,
Evinrude published DOCK LINES on a regular basis, this issue featured Evinrude international. Most issues contained racing news. On page four is a picture of Alf Bullen with H.R.H Princess Margaret at Chasewater. Alf won the OZ British Gran Prix in his Burgess/CCC V6 rig. The cover photo's were taken by Jim Jost, Jimbo in 191 and actually Jeff Brown in #4. The three little kids, L & R Dean Bergmans twin boys 2.5yo and my son center 1.5yo. Their Evinrude outfits were made by my wife by cutting up T-shirts. Jimbo won both Mod50 and OZ that weekend.
Great times, Great Memories

Check out Steve Hoffmann's beautiful Broccoli runabout with the Evinrude 15A race engine.
A studio picture and Steve is wearing a Evinrude shirt and check out the hyphen used between the boat number and letter.
Pretty cool and thanks.

The OMC Rotary and Rotary JohnI came across this video today and not only does it have the sounds of the Rotary Outboard racing (seconds 35 - 60), but it is also the well told story about how it all came about. After watching it, I came away with the utmost respect for John Sheldon aka Rotary John. The endless blood, sweat, tears and dedication that he put into this project is unimaginable. He was working seven days a week with only a few hours of sleep trying to overcome the obstacles that the Rotary engine presented. Countless hours of engineering, dyno time and then re-engineering. All of this was going on while he was struggling to meet race deadlines. Although OMC ultimately scrapped the Rotary project, John Sheldon should have received a metal of honor for his dedication to this project.

Wow..a very interesting long talk with Rick Welch. He told me about his time with Mercury in WI and "down under" in Australia.
The Welch brothers are a great part of Mercury racing history.
Thanks Rick. — in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
