Not to bad..same 3.5 liter power-head we used for F1-V8 racing @Bob V
A brand new Merc 450R - V8 with today's technology burns 50 up to 55 gallon per hour WOT..no way my F1-V8 could do that.Last edited by lars strom; 04-16-2023 at 07:26 AM.

This is the back up boat being rigged for the New Orleans to St. Louis event/record.
3 X Evinrude V6 235. Remember this was 1982..3 years before the production V8 came our.

I asked Jim Beurrier
Lars Strom
I can’t say for sure but I believe they were production V-8 gear cases. I know they brought a lot of spares. And changed them out at fuel stops along the way.
