No..not correct..BRP gave Greg Jacobsen some stuff and he got lots of parts from Cees Van Der Velden. BRP is still the owner of the Johnson name.

I see that Carl Asmus, PB editor at the time signed this. Carl was a great guy and raced as a co driver with my grandfather, Bob Nordskog in his outboard tunnel boats.

Bombardier stopped selling outboards under the Johnson brand after 2007, and moved all sales entirely to Evinrude Outboard Motors until they were discontinued in June 2020. Bombardier supports existing Johnson outboard motors through servicing and parts.

Another Argo Offshore E cat in the early eighties with Evinrude 75. Top speed around 85 MPH with driver only.

This is a very cool picture in many ways. At that time (2009) lots of French UIM drivers, Evinrude supporters around the world believed BRP was going to step up and go racing/high performance ..but NO..BRP screwed us all and later killed the most famous outboard brand in the world.

Not sure who #47 is but looks like an Italian flag and probably an Abbate with Johnson Stinger V4 power.
