Here’s a little collection of K&O toy outboards I inherited from my father. I’ve added a couple over the years. Have a pic somewhere of him in his office at Evinrude with the motors on a stand in the background. Will post when I find it…

Peterborough has always been a great hockey town. Judging by the equipment probably mid-to-late 1950's !!

Yeah.........the graphics were a big deal back in the day. With today's computers, software and vinyl printing available it's easy to replicate this graphics set.

I can imagine the debates the graphics and marketing departments had about the graphics. They had to be in theme with "surfin" (Beach Boys) and flower power, etc. Anything political (peace sign) was off limits.

Article at side reads " When Death Looked the Other Way-Two tunnel hull outboard speedboats appear to be toe dancing on Lake havasu in this photo made during the 1971 Outboard World Championship, but actually they're flipping over backwards. The driver of the boat at left, Don Pruett of St. Peterburg, Fla., almost lost his life in the crash but he's racing again and will compete in this years event on Saturday and Sunday. Driver of the other boat, Tom Wood of Peterborough, Ont., escaped with a concussion and bruises.

Not sure but looks like an STV rigged with a 1984 model year F1-V8 Johnson race engine. (Carb 12 inch mid-section)

I thought OMC/2nd Effort had a cast iron grip on ownership of any of these V8 race engines. In 1985, I was convinced that ownership didn't exist. Only leasing was allowed? I'm surprised that the race engines ended up with private owners?
