Flibs 2022
Looks like somebody sees a void that BRP/Evinrude left and is stepping right in with big outboard power! BMW is a partner on the effort. He had a tough time docking that thing, the cowls are too bulky and/or engines to close together, the engines couldn't get the right crab angle to scoot the boat over even with independent steering. 480 ft/lbs of torque at the prop. They claim its cleaner than a gas 4-stroke.

And of course, nautical nonsense to an opulent degree!

PS more opulence, 6 V12s @80-90k ? ea. No blowers here, just big 7.4 L motors. Didn't OMC once make big motors like that!?! Somebody missed the boat

1953 – Summer Vacation Evinrude Style
Motors were carried home by employees of the Evinrude Motors in Milwaukee as the plant closed for summer vacation and 1954 model year change over. The tradition that allowed workers to borrow motors for two weeks started many years before.
Evinrude’s 1953 model year lineup included: 3hp Lightwin, 7.5hp Fleetwin, 15hp Super Fastwin and the 25hp Big Twin – all represented in the photo.)
**Boom Time Relief **– The summer vacation in 1953 was a welcome relief for the very busy workers. Generally, the outboard industry suffers the same ill effects of an economic recession as the balance of industrial America, but in the mid-fifties, a midst rampant predictions of a return to depression era economics, Evinrude (and Johnson) were building outboards 24-hours a day in three shifts.

Back in the 70's when I was at OMC, the entire years production was sold out before Christmas with 6months left in the model year. Oh how times have changed.

FaceBook today. This is a 7 year old question:
Maybe someone here can help with Roy Ridgell’s question to me long time ago.??
“Lars can you tell me who is driving boat# 36, with the damaged sponson? I found this in my Dad's photo collection”
The answer is:
The #36 ON class Cougar/Evinrude Super Strangler V4 was driven by Clive Curtis & Alf Bullen in Paris 6 Hours 1972

Hydrogen powered outboards coming 2024!
More from FLIBS, electric outboard but it gets its juice from an energy exchanger they call a "fuel cell" that converts hydrogen to electricity. Pretty cool technology, hydrogen gives you the smooth quiet operation of electric with the freedom to go anywhere of gas vehicles. Of course its impractical for the single outboard hot boat crowd due to weight (fuel cell and storage battery) and of course lack of irrational power

Acie Stringfield driving Steve Dennison’s Stoker in the 2022 Parker Enduro this past Saturday. If u were to cut him with a knife he would bleed Evinrude blue!

This is a custom built Smuggler 28 powered by 2 X OMC Sea Drive V6.
Yes..its a canon installed on the deck of the bow.
This was built and rigged by a friend of mine: Kacke Gustavsson.
