Facts about Evinrude/Johnson racing outboards made my OMC

Yes..its been up here before at Scream & Fly but not on this thread..
A DeSilva Wing won the Parker 9 hours 1970. Powered by twin Evinrude Starflite Racing V4 engines.
Allan Stinson and Jerry Walin was the drivers.

First outboard to ever win the 9 Hour was of course Evinrude..(First in Outboards)..

This was the only time I ever made it out to that race. With that field it was worth the trip. Would have loved to compete but those boats were way above my paygrade.

Happy Birthday Johnnie Sanders.

This is an interesting picture from the 1978 Paris 6 Hours pit..
The OZ class boat #16..the red Molinari with Johnson V6 RS power is nice..but
the two drivers was Johnnie Sanders & Jimbo McConnell. (No Evinrude for Jimbo that race)

Pretty sure Cathy McConnell was smiling..

Mouse sitting on the fence looking toward Jimbo. The blonde lady is Dorothy Hulett and Jim Wagner leaning on the fence behind Renato’s boat. The case laying on the deck of the red boat belongs to either Jack Leek or Wagner. The red boat eventually became the OMC two-seater Press Boat.

A friend of mine sent me a video from the F1-V8 & F3 race in Como, Italy 1982.
Not a good quality video and for FB only.
I did see my red #1 AKAI/Burgess/Evinrude CC..and took a few screen shots.
Don't remember much from this race..that's normally means I did not do very good..
