Barry Woods was the US distributor for Scotti-Craft.

It must be me? The photo of the ON boat with V6 makes that 15 inch mid look tall..........

I don't ever recall seeing a Scotti running with Merc power? Woods and Hering had said good bye to the Merc camp and if Barry was the USA portal for Scotti, chances are none were sold intended for Merc power.

Well you are way off in the time frame..Scotti dead 1974..Hering left Mercury late 1976.
The last new Scotti-Craft was the one he crashed in Paris 1974..
I have picture of Scotti's crash and you can clearly see Scotti on the concrete wall in Paris.
Very sad picture I am keeping to my self.
I cant remember any Scotti-Craft boats powered by anything else than Evinrude/Johnson.

Mercury's top driver Bob Hering left Merc for OMC just before the race.
Bob Hering teamed up with Tom Posey and drove the #88 ON Class Johnson RS V6 2 liter/ Molinari in the famous race.
Well..a hole in the boat ended the race early.

As I wrote..OMC was never promoted in boat racing..but I got plenty of support/money from the Swedish Evinrude distributor Huzells and you can clearly see Huzells next to my race #1.

I first met Dave Burgess in 1969 at Bill Shakepeares boatyard i went to order a new racing boat Bill was away so Dave Burgess took me round Bills workshop he was working on the last wooden cat Bill built. In 1970 Fred Mlles had a motorcycle business and a marine business and asked Dave Burgess if he would work for him building raceboats so in 1970 Dave went to work for Fred Miles around 1974/1975 Dave bought the boatbuilding business off Fred and became burgess boats.
