No need for that..it was legal without paint.
OMC's spare part gear-cases came without paint..but the gear-case must meet the UIM homologation template.

The last line above (PS) in my Swedish ad 1980 is pretty special..

Translation:...Evinrude World Champion 1980 in the

UIM OE class John Hill / Evinrude CC

UIM ON class Renato Molinari / Evinrude V6 CCC 2 liter

UIM OZ class Renato Molinari / Evinrude V6 CCC 3 liter.

All three major UIM classes World Titles was won by Evinrude 1980..

Just another fact..

Love to have a comment from Sir Jackie Wilson about that..
