The rotaries are out having fun. I think the Evinrude is better looking.
This must be an early picture with the Johnson name hard to read.

    Pretty sure Steverino know..!!
The #14 boat still in the water is the one Renato Molinari & Bob Hering drove.

This would be the first Paris 6hr race they ran several 2.0 liter crossflow engines do you have a race program for that event.I know Pelster had a white Scotti not sure if it was 74 or 75.

39 OE class boats was pretty incredible in Paris 1974. I did not have an OE class boat/engine but competed with my SE class boat.
    #48 and ended up third.

In the unlimited / unrestricted classes like OZ (UIM) and Mod U (APBA) did anybody attempt using a false oversize engine cowling that looked like they were concealing a V8 prototype that really wasn't? (Prior to the OMC V8 in the 80's). My money would have been bet on Roger Jenkins on pulling a fake-out bluff like that. (LOL)

Well..it was the other way around..Roger Jenkins raced a T-4 with the Mariner colors 1979/80. Remember him and maybe Tom Percival also complaining that they got the carburetor model..not the fuel injected T-4.

    Memories from Paris 1974..from S.A.

    Stewart Duthie

These are my memories of the Paris 6hr.
1974 Paris 6hr race..Clive Hook and Bill Badsey were the Pilots I was the mechanic, Evinrude gave us an engine which I had to rebuild, we fitted the pressurized scoop which we had built to race at altitude and the engine ran well for about 3 hours but then blew the reed valve gaskets due to the pressure increase. So we had to retire.
World Champion Cesar’s Scotti crashed into one of the bridges and lost his life.
OMC were running the experimental Rotary engines as well as the V6 engines, the Rotarys were really quick.
We were running a V4 making good h p with our own race modifications and we were hanging onto the Factory V6s. Exciting times for us and good memory’s . A number of boats were smashed up due to debris in the river, these boats could run at 100+ mph..
