    Great stuff!

Would have loved to have me your dad while we lived down there. (Pretty sure he’s still around?)

1976 was the first year for the 200HP Johnson V6. A powerful 2.448 liter cross-flow.

Bring an old kneel down guy, I have to love #24 in the bottom picture.
Your always trying to get your ass against the transom to fly the bow.

His ass is against the clamp bracket.
    Perfect

that boat was the last SE national champion with a 44in Merc. Got recycled into SD in 74 after they changed the lower units on the 50s. Ran over 4 mph faster than it did in SE.

Meanwhile, Matt’s dad puts it on cruise and takes a nap

#24 has to be 200 lbs lighter??
Still a great shot. 24 is watching the Checkmate.

I saw a race in Cols Ohio during this era w/a kneel down boat running w/the OPC’s.
I would have loved to try them on.
I believe I had a 20H on a Bezoat runabout that would have scared them
    In smooth water.

May still have a pic somewhere.A pickle fork tunnel w/an I-6 w/giant forks.
    It was fast.

Instigator, a 20H Bezoat would get to those speeds for sure. A slightly more modern version too...
