Bob Spalding's #11 Hodges/Evinrude F1-V8 from 1985.
This was the first year for the new 6 inch mid section and the 3.5 liter looper V8 was now fuel injected.
Also the first year for safety cells.

this is one of the V-8 outboards that was on the 38' Scarab that had the mishap while testing at the OMC Test Center in Stuart, Florida. this is Michael Gwaltney who was the OMC Technician and Technical writer at OMC at the time. V-8 Johnson Offshore outboard motor.

EVINRUDE STUREVANT, WI - 100% of all Evinrude E-TEC engines are assembled at this state-of-the-art manufacturing site which employs 300 workers on the plant floor. Evinrude manufactures all of it's own aluminum cylinder blocks using a lost-foam casting process and sources engine components from across the Unites States. Major components are sourced from Merrillville IN, Tiffin OH, Racine WI, Rock Valley IA, Bettendorf IA, and Andrews NC.

This is one of the first boats with safety cell powered by the later Evinrude 2-stroke 3.5 liter looper with fuel injection and the 6 inch mid section. The year was 1985.

I have slowly learn to stick to my own thread here at S&F to stay out of trouble.
There is a discussion if I have been to the OFF meetings in Tavares, Florida or not and the answer is YES many times.
More exact, I have been there five timers.
The fall of 2013, spring of 2014, fall of 2015, spring of 2016 and fall of 2016.
My own pictures in the right order from the five times I have been to the OFF meetings in Tavares.
After the fall 2016 event there was problems to park a motor-coach and some event got cancelled but if I can talk Carina in to go again we are probably showing up in Taveres. Not sure when.
