Facts about Evinrude/Johnson racing outboards made my OMC

Lots of F1-V8 boats in the Lyon, France GP 1985.

OMC hired Pro One to organize the F1 World series 1985.
If I remember right Pro One and OMC signed a three year deal..
Pro One did a great job the first year but spent way to much money..all three years budget the first year..!!
OMC got very upset and cancelled Pro One after the 1985 season.

Lars - a while back on this site, there was a thread conversation about Werner's race shop burning up. Has anybody heard from him since?

Well..Michael Werner sometimes post on my FaceBook page but I dont know anything more.
Dont think he is involved in racing anymore.
We use to have big fights in the UIM OE class.
This is from 1977..Werner is boat 7 and I am boat 40.

Well..Cees Van Der Velden got #13..not sure about that number.
#12 used by Ken Stevenson/Bob Spalding was way better. They won the 1980 Paris 6 Hour race driving the OZ class Velden/Carlsberg/Johnson RS V6 3 liter looper.

(On a sad note..last year for the OZ class in the Paris race)

A great note..Sture & I won the OE class..!!

Francois Salabert of France.

This is from Leon, Spain.
The first race in the F1-V8 series 1982. This was also Francois first race with the same V8 power as the other two JPS boats driven by Tom Percival and Bob Spalding.
Francois did extremely good and finished second in this race with his brand new #12 Velden Racing/JPS/Johnson V8 3.5 liter 2 stroke looper.

(Yes, I was there racing F3 and did little bit better than Francois)

Stockholm GP 1984

If I remember right we are waiting for the green flag for practice/testing. This is late Saturday afternoon.
The race was 7:PM
I guess the driver of boat #8 is tired of waiting..
