    Accessory PT Kits

Pretty sure in/out meant the optional power trim...but don't remember OMC ever having up/down on recreational motors - only racing engines about 1972 and after ???
I don't think either OMC or Mercury ever produced a show room floor model engine assembled with power trim at least until the mid 70s. Power trim was always considered a kit that dealers would add on to the engines they sold. Would have have been difficult to crate and ship motors with rams, trim lines, pumps and wiring together in a box?

Great memories from the OMC races at Cypress Gardens. I was there the year after..1994 and I think Duke Waldrop was the Officer of the Day.
Thanks Dean Chew for the pictures.

Cees & Gene Thibodaux in Como, Italy 1983.
This was my first race in the F1-V8 class and lake Como was flooded and really windy/rough race day.

I agree Lars. Manual up/down by way of the transom bracket and manual in/out by way of the tilt pin.

I don't think the transom brackets became 'universal' for all outboards until maybe the introduction of the V6's.

    Bill Grannis

1960 model, the first 75 hp.

A bit of trivia - the transom bolt pattern used for first time on this 1960 Johnson engine is the same bolt pattern today that the outboard industry standardized years ago for larger motors.
