    @WaterZebra

    If you watch the video all the questions you have about rigging etc. is in there.
    I guess OMC sold most of the boats after the Miami race.

ID:	512904My Seebold SE hull was NOT one of these. Mine had very different sponson bottoms.
    Seebold made 17 hulls for the ROC. Bill told me over time they made about 35 SE hulls in total.

    Did Bill elaborate on how the 17 ROC hulls were made? Schedule? Deadline? etc

    I was at that race. As a long time SE racer I was not impressed. This event was an OMC and ABC Sports creation. A bunch of those guys had no clue about how to drive one of those boats much less race them.

    Yeah, when I looked at the names I scratched my head. Pardon me, but driving an unlimited is like driving your parent's Chevy station wagon!

    Some info from my FaceBook today.
    Yes..Roger Jenkins..the current UIM OE class World Champion 1975 and a very good SE class racer was part of the Miami race 1975.
    Also Jimbo McConnell..!!
    Here is Rogers wife Denise and Jimbos wife Cathy..

    • Denise Jenkins
    • We were there.

      Cathy McConnell
    • Yes Denise, you were…… and then we had the fun trip back to Illinois with You and Roger. I was just looking through some photos for Lars and ran across us at Disney World and Chattanooga. Good Memories. I still remember how Roger was more interested in going underground at Disney World to see how everything operated than he was on the street surface.

    Angelo Vassena of Italy in one of the Seebold Evinrude 75HP. Angelo and I competed many years in the SE class.
    He is a very successful SE class racer with victories in Paris 6 hours and Rouen 24 hours.

    Barry Woods, Cees Van Der Velden, Johnny Sanders are pretty famous tunnel boat racers also in Seebold/Evinrude 75 boats.

    Here is what I could find as to who the drivers were for the Bill Muncey Race of Champions;

    Outboard drivers;

    Jimbo McConnell
    Johnny Sanders
    Barry Woods
    Geoff Briggs
    Roger Jenkins
    Angelo Vassena
    Bill Badsley
    Andre Dercyks (spelling?)

    Unlimited Hydrplane;

    Billy Schumacher - the winner
    Mickey Remund
    Jerry Bangs

    Offshore;

    Wally Franz

    Not sure about the driver from Argentina; Regnicoli.

    That's 13 drivers, not sure who the other 2 were ??
    I know there was coverage in the March 1976 issue of Powerboat...but that is one of the few issues I do not have.

    Interesting that Mercury gave full permission to Seebold to build & supply the hulls, however did not want any Merc drivers to participate.

    Personally I think the concept was very clever.

    Here is a picture of all the drivers and you can see Cees Van Der Velden next to Bill Muncey.
