With a "driving RV" or motorhome you have two running vehicles in case one becomes disabled (assuming you're towing a car). The motorhome also allows your passengers to be in the house part while underway (better for families as opposed to just couples). That said, the tow behind RV offer more space, especially the 5th wheel trailers.

In Southern California we use to have a dirt track, where motorcycles and Outlaw cars would race at. And it was in the late eighties at Ascot Race Park, that the Outlaw teams were going mainly with the 5th Wheel Haulers. The 5th wheel is more stable, and the weight distribution is better over the truck's rear axle.

Having said that, the horse racers and ranchers were hauling their livestock with 5th wheels prior to the motor racers.

    OMC SOLD HIGH-PERFORMANCE RACE ENGINES

In 1976, OMC released the new Evinrude CCC & Johnson SR (Special Racing) V6 high-performance race engines. They both were 149.4 cubic inch crossflow engines based on the 200/235 hp production V6 powerhead. The only difference in these two was the hood, color and brand graphics. These were highly modified versions of the stock production engines with special internal parts, porting, heads, flywheels, custom racing center sections and gear cases. The CCC & SR were built from 1975 to 1981 in very limited quantities and in a number of variations including: 149 and 160 cubic inch blocks, different porting, heads, pistons, cranks and carbs.
In 1978, OMC introduced the brand new purpose-built, 3-liter looper V6 with electronic fuel injection, experimental exhaust systems, extended intakes, etc. (Some photos show the Johnson decal as RS – Racing Special)

Yellow boat #35, pretty sure that's Barry Woods? Is the boat a Molinari? Definitely not a Seebold. Velden?

Many different power heads under the V6 CCC/RS engine covers.
2 liter looper & some cross flow - 2.448 liter cross flew & some 2.6 cross flow - 3 liter loopers with fuel injection & a few with carburetors. ( the 3 liter used a larger engine cover but was still a CCC/RS)

Did a CCC or RS OMC V6 ever end up on a Seebold? I can't recall if they ever did? I know a V8 ended up on one (Woods) but never a CCC or RS?

I do not have the correct answer, but the CCC/RS came out late 1976 and OMC signed Renato late 1976 so there was no need for CCC/RS on Seebold boats.
    Renato took all the business..!!

Somewhere back in 76 or 77 Barry showed up to "test" his CCC at a local race on the Willamette River in Portland OR. All the local guys were running Merc T2s or OMC Stranglers or Stingers. Barry made the course layout look small with the speed he could get with his CCC.
