I am currently restoring a tunnel hull. It is a Velden racing boat with the JPS logo on it. One of the most beautiful model he has designed!!

Francois Salabert of France.

This is from Leon, Spain.
The first race in the F1-V8 series 1982. This was also Francois first race with the same V8 power as the other two JPS boats driven by Tom Percival and Bob Spalding.
Francois did extremely good and finished second in this race with his brand new #12 Velden Racing/JPS/Johnson V8 3.5 liter 2 stroke looper.

(Yes, I was there racing F3 and did little bit better than Francois)

Stockholm GP 1984

If I remember right we are waiting for the green flag for practice/testing. This is late Saturday afternoon.
The race was 7:PM
I guess the driver of boat #8 is tired of waiting..

This is how it started 50 years ago..My first top five finish in Nora, Sweden early 1972. (Step one in my dream came thru)
Step 2 - in my dream was being a successful boat racer and win International races.
Step 3 - was starting my own Evinrude dealership.
Step 4 - living in America..!!

We can all do it if you stay focus and dream big.

SE class boat racing from Nora, Sweden June 1972.

This was my second circuit boat racing experience using my E-152 E class Piraya 16/Evinrude 65 Offshore-boat. Thanks to Mia Carelius and Bo Nilsson for pictures and result. Remember I got picked for this race by the Swedish Powerboat Federation and that means pretty good traveling money. Back then Nora was big in boat racing. A small town next to a beautiful lake. As always we raced four heat races and three of them counts. (You could take one out) Dont remember much from the race but I ended up fourth and was very proud .

Looking at all the pictures and great memories from my boat racing years makes me emotional..Thanks again. My dreams came true.
Outboards use to be everything in my life..(OMC)
