Well..correct but Velden was one of the first developing safety cells. I drove a Velden 1985 with safety cell. Renato built a few boats with safety cells but not a very good one.
Second Efforts V8 boats did use canopies..This picture is from 1988.
I drove a new F3/OE class Burgess 1990 with canopy..I did like it..but not very much..

Lars, The Johnson RS I am selling is a "stock" 2.4L (3.50" bore) race motor. The RS I had on the O'Berry boat eventually used a '84 2.6 block. Most of the current RS came from Pete Nydahl and he got it from Bob Larson. BTW, this is the motor that Pete sent me a 727 gearcase and neither of us noticed it till I tried to install it.

Notice the turn fin on the E-73 boat.

Never seen that on one of those boats.

Allison or Critchfield and Hydrostream Vixen In back.

I think that would be a killer class to race.

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Raced that class for a couple of years in 1972 and 73. In APBA it was E Production. It was a very competitive class with lots of boats at most races. Pretty much an OMC class byClick image for larger version.

Looks like the Miami Marine Stadium. My dad raced there in the mid 70's, J production and Super Modified V bottom (SV). Interesting to think that some guys put a Twister/T2/T2x on the same sized boat.
