Bare hull will be slightly more then that but after you rig everything and put a trailer under it, buy the scooters, props, and spare parts, the hull becomes the cheap part. There has been extensive testing and set up done with this one and its a proven front runner.

This boat is comparable to none. It has more hours of test time, research and development, than any others in its class. Speaks for itself. Its proven itself time after time against the newest dougs, victorys. Who ever purhases it will understand why its the price it is.

5-6 years ago you could buy a bare hull for 90k. Now with the WAY overpriced new cats people think their worth gold. Market is at the peak. When it bursts and these new overpriced cats that people overplayed for can’t get not even half for. Not trying to start anything just don’t understand How a bare hull inflates by 100k in a few years just because when we know it doesn’t cost not even anywhere close to that to make it. An ex raceboat for $385k......... just for a perspective in my opinion a 34 Pilini for example brand new can be had for $260k. Which is a bigger boat and top speed is very comparable. Ok my rant is over...... but wait they’ve done “secret testing” with this race boat come on really.

The bare hull from Doug has gone up 10% from what he was selling them for 8 years ago. Labor cost and materials have gone up at least that much in that same time frame.
They will never be any less expensive then they are today.

Not even close trying to compare a Pilini or Fountain to a Skater or MTI and especially not a Doug Wright (no disrespect to any as they are all good boats in their own right for their intended purposes).
Base price boat build comparison:
Pilini & Fountain are Vinylester at best with E-glass.
Skater & MTI are epoxy and balsa
Doug Wright is Epoxy with S-glass and Airex core

This boat is not a stock Doug Wright. Its a one of a kind boat. Scott Porta was involved in the design and modification of this boat. From a one of a kind top deck and 7” transom height allowing more stern lift to 6 weeks of bottom modifications creating a boat that can turn harder, accelerate in the bumps faster/ not decelerate in turns like the others has created a boat that has never been beat !! Hear me clearly, this boat is not at fault for any race it didn’t finish first !! I don’t know what a Pillini 34’s top speed is, but this boat has run 126 with stock 300XS’s and I don’t recall seeing one race in S class. Nick needed bigger props and it would have pulled more mph. Over a month of rigging time went into getting the boat rigged to perfection. In fact this boat bruised so many egos that the class went behind Nick and Scotts backs and had Scotts Porta brackets outlawed from the class, saying they were an unfair advantage !! So comparing this to a stock DW is like comparing a base corvette to a ZR-1. Theres no comparison!! Is it worth 385K ?? If your time is worth $100 an hour, with all the time and talent put into this boat its a bargain, yes its a lot of cheese, way more than this keyboard warrior can swing, but you can’t duplicate it for less !!! See you at the races !! Hopefully this year !!!
