I agree Chaz !!! It was awesome to see Austin wheeling that thing around the turns, considering prior to Sunday he had all of 20 minutes in the boat !! !! There's still a lot of dialing in to do and more seat time to acquire but the boat is exceeding expectations !! They were a little over wheeled for the Sunday Conditions but prop science is an elusive pursuit !! More testing is in store for this week, weather permitting !! Dave

They have both told me on separate occasions how blessed they feel to be able to do this together .
It seemed hectic and a lot of work , but looking back at when my son and I raced two cars on the same night ... it was the best times of my life . These guys are working on the same indelible good times . Nothing better in my eyes !

I never minded running against a faster guy .. because the time ticket they handed me had all of his run information printed on it . I could see where he was strong as well as weak spots if there were any . Showed me area's of my game that I needed to work on ..
No different from Austin and Nick following GB Racing for enough laps ... they'll get his style of angles in , learn what it takes to keep his momentum as they roll thru the center and get a jump on the drive off the exit ... down pat !
From the looks of it .. you guys already have a pretty good handle on it ...

Yes they are the "kit" that Scott Porta' developed that uses a 3.0L lower unit , a 2.5 can that has been filled , milled and drilled on the bottom . His adapter , tuner and base plate that allows the 3.2L powerhead to be bolted onto the stock 2.5L top.

Yes, they are the 2.5 ros mids and Scott got a couple of his adapter plates put together for Key West. They have shaved some weight and the boat is running good. Tomorrow will be fun to watch.

No sir .. that's his deal . We do stay in touch to bounce idea's back and forth . Everyone needs people whom they trust to do that with .
If anything , he gave me the trick to make the 3.0 lower unit / water pump / shift hardware fit in the 2.5 can , when I did the mids for the Phantom Skunkworks boat last year .
