Checkmater Pulsare 2400 BRX 2013 Mercury 300 XS/ 3.2 Stroker
New to this type of boating, been on fishing boats all my life all over Florida Fresh and Salt.
this rig has the Trophy 24 4 blade, but it is for the smaller gear case, I guess that is common on these types of rigs, I have read on these forums 70 plus with these boat and motor combo's, so far best I have seen is 65, RPM seemed low to me, 5500 or so. I really didn't like the slip feel of the 24 so I put a large diameter prop on it, (Thunderbolt 21) off my bay boat, and love the hook and response but it is still same speed more RPM, seen 6400...
I have no intention of ever pulling anyone and don't need that last 1/2 mph that will sacrifice all the zip out of the mid-range. I am going to try a friends 23 tempest plus, however I tried those and rev 4's on my 22' bay boat w/ 250 SHO and didn't like neither of them for that application, to much bow lift and porpoise at low speed. I would like to find the prop that is best all around with typical load of 4 people and a cooler, and pick up a little more MPH and RPM when unloaded. So any one with similar set up please advise, I haven't measured the set back or height yet, I would estimate the C/L 2-3 " below hull, which seems really high to me since everything I have always done measured from the cav plate.

I have a 2400 BRX, i had a Verado 300 Pro on it for a bit more than a year & the engine came with a 25 Tempest +, it was a bit big for the 300 as I couldn't get my top rpm's. Although the Verado & XS are 2 different animals the prop selection isn't to far off, the best all around prop that worked for my setup was a worked 22p Bravo 1, 65mph with 4 on board + gear & beer, for top end i would use a 24p Bravo or a 25p BBlades Blaster, 71mph. My setup at the time was a 10" Bob's hyd jackplate & my prop shaft C/L for top speed would be 1/2" below & for all around running, cruising & tubing it liked 2" below. I have read that the Trophy's work well with the closed bow (2400 LD) the open bow like ours catch a lot of wind & are bow heavier requiring props that cary the bow better. I have since changed my set up to a Bob's 6" Extreme & repowerd with a 400R & I'm seeing speeds in the upper 70's lower 80's

I have a 2008 24 Closed deck. I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I am running right at 72MPH on GPS with a 25" trophy at 5900 RPMs, light load. With heavy load 4 people, full tank etc am getting 68 mph. I have a 25 Tempest if you want to try and if so, would like to try your 24 trophy. Motor is a 2012 300XS with torquemaster gearcase

I would love to upgrade to the 400 but looking at the weight increase I wasn't sure how much it would bring to the table. Looks like it brings plenty and sounds like you are happy with it. The price is main deterrent for me, maybe one day. Do you still have the Bravo or Blaster, if so do you want to sell either one.

I feel quite sure my boat will never be loaded light enough to turn a 25 tempest. Are you currently in NY? I may have another 24 Trophy in my collection that needs to be relocated..., I will verify and let you know.

Yes in NY. Let me know about the 24 Trophy. I am interested in seeing if I can get that last 200 to 300 RPM out of the 300XS. Im seriously considering dropping my 300X to see what it does on it. Randy Wildman says no difference and he is pretty knowledgable on these hulls
