    225 optimax problem

Brand new 225 2015 pro xs already been towed in twice not even 3 hrs on the motor originally was not starting turned out to be a battery issue put 2 new 1000cca batteries in and fired right up thought that was the fix then died again rewired the perko switch stated right up this morning went to take it for a run motor died in the harbor . any ideas as to what is going on hopefully something simple definitely sounds electrical i know these things are very sensitive to voltage drops, im getting good voltage to the batteries when running

How old is the key switch? How about the kill switch? Harness connector on motor tight and locked?

Could very well be the problem. They wear from use and get corrosion internally. You might try and start the motor and then wiggle the key slightly to test. Not a good test though. I would just replace it since it is 11 yrs old...It is an easy thing to do...One less thing to fail, even if it is not the problem.

That's a good find. Stuff like that can be a real pain to pin point.....
